I am a Patriots fan so I enjoyed this book about Tom Brady and his fight for redemption after the insidious Deflategate nonsense perpetrated by Roger Goodell and his minions at the NFL offices.This book paints Roger Goodell as the power hungry, amoral, lying, narcissist that he clearly is. The book clearly explains Goodell’s motive in the fiasco, which was to assert his power over an iconic football player so that players with less stature would see that they will have to toe the line with any punishments he lays down for real or perceived infractions. Goodell had already been lambasted publicly for clearly lying during the Ray Rice domestic abuse situation and getting his decision to suspend Adrian Peterson for alleged child abuse overturned in court. But he knows how to please his bosses, the NFL owners, and the revenue keeps piling up so he is safe from those narcissist billionaires. The book also makes it very clear the Wells Report was in no way, shape, or form an “independent” investigation but one that essentially told the story that Roger Goodell wanted told.I do wish the book had spent more time documenting all the leaks to the media of inaccurate or false information without retraction and the other dirty tactics the league took to damage Brady’s reputation and his court case. That would have made the book more powerful.And while the book covers Robert Kraft’s ultimately giving up the fight for Brady to stay in good graces with the other NFL owners, and Brady’s and the fans dismay over it, more could have been explored in this area.Ultimately the book is about Brady coming back from suspension for another Super Bowl run that found the Patriots cementing the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history in Super Bowl LI. And Goodell having to hand the Super Bowl trophy to Brady amidst a chorus of boos. The last part of the book goes into the Super Bowl run and the game itself in great detail, including Brady wanting to win it for his ailing mother.And of course in conclusion, Tom Brady, with five Super Bowl rings, has cemented himself as the Greatest Quarterback of All Time.

Make sure you double check the pages. I had to return it because Little Brown has published it with a repeat of the final 10 pages or so standing in for about a third of the book.In terms of the book itself, anyone expecting a review and analysis of the shield’s case against Brady should look elsewhere. While it is mentioned, it is always in passing. The authors spend an inordinate amount of time on the various actors in the Deflategate saga, and take you through the timeline of events, but there is really nothing new or “inside” here other than some observations about the League by Brady’s representation. While the authors certainly do a good job of taking you through the “redemption” of the 2016-2017 season, there is little to support the title other than the Pats’ amazing SBLI victory.

Whether you're a Patriots fan or not, this is a good book to show both sides of what happened.It shows what Brady and his family went through as well as those who fought for and against him during Deflategate. Please read with an open mind to see and decide what really happened behind the scenes.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a Pats fan, but I'm also not a hater either. Regardless of where your allegiance lies, however, this book will be of interest. Considering all the tabloid headlines constantly swirling around Tom Brady and the goings on in Foxborough, I found the narrative to be a refreshing and clear-eyed take on why Brady, even after winning so many Super Bowls, continues to have a chip on his shoulder. The incredible access the authors were able to get into the organization, allowed them to also tell the story from a perspective I've never seen, read, nor heard. Taken together, 12 is a terrific work of sports journalism that offers a refreshing and much-needed analysis of what makes Tom Brady tick. Highly recommend!

This isn't bad. I wish I would have purchased a different guitar tab book though. This book doesn't teach you how to play all of listed songs but only shows you the key pieces of the song. So if you buy this book, don't expect to learn how to play the listed songs from beginning to end because you won't. Not a bad buy, but I would not recommend it over a full tablature book.

I really like the "Guitar Signature Licks" series books. This one is no exception. I know some people have complaints about them not being comprehensive, but if that is your issue you should probably buying the "Recorded Guitar Version" or "Authentic Guitar-Tab" books instead. I like these 'instructional" books sometimes. I think of them as a master class for a particular artist. I don't find that the lack of a slowed down track to be a problem. I find that the licks are chopped up enough and the corresponding tab is sufficient to get me where I want to be. I suppose you could find a way with some third party software like Audacity or Riffstation to slow it down if you really wanted to....I haven't really tried.

I found these techniques extremely helpful. I was very pleased with the product and how fast it was shipped to me!

...I can't help but think that slowing the tracks down on the CD would have made it easier. Also, Perrin doesn't spend much time explaining the actual promised "breakdown" of Slash's work - the full title of the book is THE TECHNIQUES OF SLASH: THE BEST OF GN'R, but the title seems to change throughout - sometimes it's a demonstration of Slash's techniques, sometimes it's just tabs of their best songs with little explanation.For example, he notes the "power strumming" for Civil War, but doesn't give any advice on how to strum the opening, which is in my opinion the hardest part.It's still a good book and very useful because it contains accurate transcriptions of the songs, and many of them are indeed their best. However I also bought a tab book for Appetite for Destruction - the only bonus here is a few Use Your Illusion tracks and a CD, because the "tutoring" they promise on the back cover isn't exactly very helpful.Also, don't be fooled by the back cover - November Rain, Bad Obsession and various others that are listed are NOT transcribed; brief solo passages are contained within a section called "Signature Slash Licks," which basically means you learn to play part of the November Rain solo, NOT the entire song (as I was lead to believe).There's so much Appetite content in this book, I feel as if I paid twice for the same thing! But at least it has _some_ UYI songs, such as Yesterdays, which is fairly easy to play.However also be aware that this is very hard - the solo for Sweet Child O' Mine is the hardest solo I've ever played, and they don't make it any easier with the CD. (Listen to how fast it goes!)Good book, not perfect though.

Owning three electric guitars, I thought it was time to get an acoustic and wanted a good song to learn. "Patience" is one of the best, IMHO, so I picked up this book. Wow, what a dissapointment! It didn't sound at all like the song. This was more like a version of Patience, instead of the actual song. EVen my teacher told me not to bother with the CD because the rendition was so bad, and considering the CD is more than half the cost of this book, I felt a bit ripped off by the poor quality. However, the tab isn't bad, it's pretty acurate from what I can tell, so I'm trying to give a fair review and give it three stars. If you really want to learn this song, go check out Justinguitar.com. He's got the best version and teaches it far better than this book does!

If you ever wanted a perfect transcription of any popular guns and roses song this book is for you. The slowed down versions of the songs are awesome for learning the licks. Be warned this book is very overwhelming when you first look at it, I say any intermediate or advanced guitarist would be able to benfit most from this book.Good Buy!

The book is good, but having the CD really helps. If you have ever wanted to learn to play GNR songs, get this book. This was the first tab book I ever purchased and I learned note for note how to play paradise city and sweet child o mine and the rest is history.
